Book Give- Away

It feels like Summer time here in the South with the ac coming on quite a bit, the temps are so crazy for this time of year. My pansies have been planted for weeks but some died either by the heat or from the grubs and critters that the cold weather normally gets rid of. My husband and I enjoy our times together outside in the yard, in the gardens or just sitting for quite moments in our swing or glider. Times like these are few and far between but we enjoy them when we can. I was able to do some canning this Summer or was it this Fall Lol. With the weather being so warm for so long the fresh vegetables have been in abundance. I canned some green beans. Tomatoes and apple butter.
I had some help from Katie when time away from school permitted. I really want my girl's to know how to do these things it can really come in handy and it tastes so good to. I will miss her when she goes to college next year even though she will live at home just know she will be away makes me start to miss her presence at home already.. I still miss my oldest and I see her ever day. Well she studies most of this time but I know she is here. I love my family very much. Families change sort of like the seasons. The seasons change, the leaves fall and the grass dies, we are reminded  by this verse how short our lives are. So enjoy all the time you have with your loved ones with love and laughter and always keeping God first in your heart and life makes  life so much easier. Until my next post I hope everyone is well and happy. Thanks for coming by and God bless.

 1 Peter 1 :24-25
For all flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth and theflower thereof falleth away. But the word of the Lord endureth forever and this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

I canned some apple butter and tomatoes this year, too. It was really hot this summer and into fall here, too, but now it's starting to feel like it's supposed to. Not sure I'm looking forward to what comes after just yet though! Have a BLESSED week! ~Karen

Good Morning Sweet Lisa. Man has it turned cold here in the South where I live at. I've already had to turn the furnace on and been using my hall pad heater as well. We were under freeze warnings the last 2 nights here. I wish I knew how to can but I don't. My Mom does and she does alot of it because people give her things to can. I bet that homemade apple butter is really good. I love apple butter and so does my girls. I have quit playing my games on Sundays and just do blogging. I may harvest crops and take things off my stove, but as far as visitin my neighbors, I take a break from that on Sundays. Take care my friend and I hope you have a great upcoming week. May GOD continue to Bless you and yours.

Love and hugs,

Karen H.

I used to love to help my Mother can the things that we grew. I think it is a wonderful thing for people to learn to do especially in the times that we live in.

I am so happy to be able to visit your blog again. Thanks for inviting me. love you, sweet Lisa. connie

Thanks for the invite, Lisa. I can't recall if we met before, but hope we can get to visit each other as time allows. I understand how you feel about when it's time for our children to be in that new stage of life. The same holds true here. Be blessed!
