How Great Thou Art

How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder Consider all the worlds Thy hand hath made,I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,Thy pow'r throughout the universe displayed;
Refrain:

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee,How great Thou art! How great Thou art!Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee;How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
When through the woods and forest glades I wander,I hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze;

Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee,How great Thou art! How great Thou art!Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee;How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
But when I think that God, His Son not sparing,Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in,That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,He bled and died to take away my sin;
Refrain:

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee,How great Thou art! How great Thou art!Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee;How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!Then I shall bow in humble adoration And there proclaim, "My God, how great Thou art!

Refrain:

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee,How great Thou art! How great Thou art!Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee;How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
The history of this hymn "Mr. Carl Gustaf Boberg (1859-1940). He was a Swedish pastor, editor, and member of the Swedish parliament. Mr. Boberg was enjoying a nice walk when a thunderstorm suddenly appeared out of no where. A severe wind began to blow. After the storm was over, Mr. Boberg looked out over the clear bay. He the heard a church bell in the distance. And the words to How Great Thou Art begin to form in his heart -- O Lord, my God, When I in awesome wonder, consider all the worlds Thy hands hath made. . . Can you imagine what Boberg felt as he formed these words? There was such calmness after the fierce storm he could only utter those words of peace.

I just wanted to share one of my most favorite hymns. Please read the words and let them sink in. These words are so marvelous to me. I also found this history on the hymn that I thought was interesting to read. I hope everyone is well and I hope those that were feeling bad are now better. I have to tell you I have found a christian doctor and even though I didn't get an appointment until July. I feel really hopeful. God is good and I am thankful for all your prayers and comments. My dear friend Karen over at Karen Korner awarded me these awards. Thank you Karen for your thoughtfulness.Blessings Lisa

Good Evening Lisa,
I am up late tonight because our youngest daughter has had too much caffeine. She can't sleep now. I so love that song, How Great Thou Art. It is one of my favorite Church Hymns. "THANK YOU" for sharing the words with us. You are most Welcome for the Awards. You are very deserving of each and everyone of them. "PRAISE GOD" you have found a Christian Doctor. GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME, GOOD IS GOOD!!!! I know July seems such a long way off, but it will be here before you know it. I will continue to pray for you and pray that you can get some answers from this new doctor. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
