Wholesome Humor

Wholesome Humor

I am a firm believer in humor and laughter. I just love to laugh and make others happy. Laughter can keep a tense situation from ending in bitter words or hard feelings. The spontaneity of humor reflects the way God created man. It is both physically and emotionally beneficial. I however do not like for someone to laugh at or find humor at someone's hardships. There are two sides to humor. Good and bad! Be careful how you use them!

Although Jesus was a "Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief"(Isaiah 53:3) He is despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief and we hid as it were our faces from him: he was despised and we esteemed him not.

Sometimes Jesus used humor to make a point. Imagine a camel trying to squeeze through the eye of a needle! (Matthew 19:24) And again I say unto you, its easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

But there's also a dark side to humor. In (Ephesians 5:4) Paul refers to Jesting and said that it should have no place in the believer's life. It demeans ,degrades and defiles those who use it and those who hear it.

So what do we laugh at? What kinds of stories do we tell each other? Would Jesus laugh with us? I believe he would if it were wholesome humor.

Lord Give us a good sense of humor. Lord give us the grace to laugh and smile.
But check our lips from needless jest that what we speak may be worthwhile.
Thank you for visiting and thank you my dear blogger friends for your prayers. Keep praying I need it.

Good Morning Lisa,
I love your post for today. It is so true that the humor we share should be something that would make Jesus laugh also. There are many sick people in this world that do things like that and we as Christians should pray for them. I hope you are feeling some better as well. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

Lisa,
I loved this post! It is so true that a Christian should be happy and joyful. Laughing draws people to you as long as it is about something clean like you said. Who wants to be a Christian if you look as if you just ate a sour persimmon?! ;-)

Thank you for entering my giveaway!
