Psalm-1~

Psalm 1
1~Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2~But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3~And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4~The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5~Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6~For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

. Most people automatically think of David when they consider the question of who wrote the Book of Psalms. A shepherd boy who rose to become the most famous king of Judah, he was also known as "the sweet psalmist of Israel" (2 Samuel 23:1). He lived during the most creative age of Hebrew song and poetry. As king, he organized the services of worship in the tabernacle, appointing priests and Levites for the specific purpose of providing songs and music. So it is not surprising that his name should be clearly associated with this beautiful book of praise.

The Book of Psalms consists of 150 psalms, each of which constitutes a religious song, though one or two are atypically long and may constitute a set of related chants. When the Bible was divided into chapters, each Psalm was assigned its own chapter. Psalms are sometimes referenced as chapters, despite chapter assignments postdating the initial composition of the "canonical" Psalms by at least 1,500 years.

I am studying the book of Psalm and I hope you get a Blessing form the verses. I love reading the Psalm's. We are going to The Rochester's 10TH Annual Homecoming Singing tonight. Their a really talented bluegrass gospel family who travels and sings for the Lord. We always get a Blessing form their music and the other groups are great to. Thanks for stopping by place for a visit and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

I just finished reading through Proverbs again, and plan to include Psalm reading next. Are you studying on your own, or do you have a Bible study group? I used to take Precept at my past church and loved it, but have been unable to find another.
Have a wonderful week-end and enjoy that concert!
