ONE~

ONE~
One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.

One smile begins a friendship,

One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,

One word can frame the goal.

One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room.
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.

One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true.
One life can make the difference,

You see it's up to YOU!"

I ask myself this question quiet often. How can I make a difference? You know we all can make a difference to someone. One of the best and most important things we can do as Christians is Pray for each other but we can do so much more. As a homeschool Mom I spend most of my time at home. I try to do little things for my neighbors that might help them in some way. Share baked goodies. Take in their paper while they are away or call and see if everything is OK. You never know when an elderly neighbor needs a ride to the store or just a hug.I love to give and receive hugs :)The world is full of lonely people and just a smile can mean so much. Life and circumstances can make us seem preoccupied but we should never be to busy to smile or speak to someone.

As the economy declines you seem to see more people who are in need of something, whether it may be a job a home a meal or just a friend. I hope I can be that someone to somebody.
Thank you for coming by for a visit. I do not seem to have the time to post as often as I would like. I hope you all are well and happy.

Hugs.

A very good poem! Did you write this?
Absolutley one person can make a huge difference. Imagine just what the SMILE has done for the world!
And Oh our precious Saviour. ONE who gave all and changed life completely for those who trust in Him. I think in 2009 we will truly be able to let our light shine for Him in the dark days ahead for many. Thank you for stopping by Lisa. God bless you!

Love your new look here!
It is so very true. These are scary days, and with so many losing jobs, we have to be that light. I'm sure your neighbors are so blessed to have you.
One of my favorite things to do is bake, and I share, too, but need to do better in the other ways you suggest.
Blessings and hugs,
K

Lisa in all my busyness at times I try hard to continue sharing a smile. They are hard to come by these days. There is extensive sadness and oppression. I count it a blessing when one is returned. Thank you for sharing. Love ya girl.

Thank you for your sweet comments. I always get a Blessing from your blog posts. To answer you question. I did not write this poem. I was reading a Christian devotional link and came across it and thought I would share.
Have a Blessed day.

It's easy to think of ourselves when things get bad like they are. And it's likely to get worse. But if we try to stay focused on others and be there in their time of need, it will help us through our own!
