Beautiful Christian Sister ~

By Maya Angelou

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ that a man should have to
seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin''

I'm whispering 'I was lost,

Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I don't speak of this with pride.

I'm confessing that I stumble

and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not trying to be strong.

I'm professing that I'm weak and

& nbsp; need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not bragging of success.

I'm admitting I have failed and

need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not claiming to be perfect,

My flaws are far too visible but,

God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I still feel the sting of pain..

I have my share of heartaches,

so I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not holi er than thou,

I'm just a simple sinner

Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Pretty is as Pretty does... But beautiful is just plain beautiful!

I received this from a dear online friend. I have read this before but I thought it was so nice I wanted to share it with all my beautiful friends. I hope you have a great Saturday. My Oldest daughter will be turning seventeen next week. I am so proud of her and her sister. We are going to spend the weekend shopping and doing girl things for Holly's birthday. Thanks for coming to visit. Blessings. Lisa

I am a Christian...and I know I have received God's grace....
when I was growing up...and would be dressed for something mom always said to me
"My dear you look very pretty, and just remember that Pretty is as Pretty Does!"
I have never forgotten those words...
and now I see them on your blog...
thanks for the memory!!
Have a wonderful Palm Sunday tomorrow,

Hi Lisa,
I love this poem by Maya. It says so much that I relate says so much about my flaws and weakness but it's all about HIM! I like that because there is nothing good in me. Just a sinner saved by Grace!

I hope you're enjoying the weekend with the birthday girl! Happy Birthday, Holly!

Love and Hugs,

Thanks for visiting me. I have read this poem before and enjoyed reading it again. It's a good one. I'm also enjoying your music.
PS - Shelly (above) is a friend of mine as is Nancy who she mentions. This blogging world is a small one!
