Fall is in the Air~

"I love fall! Fall is exciting.
It's apples and cider.
It's an airborne spider.
It's pumpkins in bins.
It's burrs on dog's chins.
It's wind blowing leaves.
It's chilly red knees.
It's nuts on the ground.
It's a crisp dry sound.
It's green leaves turning
And the smell of them burning.
It's clouds in the sky.
It's fall. That's why...
I love fall."

I awoke in the wee hours of the morning to a very unfamiliar sound. It was raining. The rain sounded so relaxing. I thank the Lord for this rain. We are in drought conditions here in the South and we need all the rain we can get.

My What a pleasant chill in the air! Autumn is very near.I love this time of year. It's a time for picking apples to make apple sauce, apple butter, apple pie among many other recipes. When I think of Autumn I think of corn candy, apple cider, cool evening walks in a jacket. The smell of burning leaves if your from the country. :)
The mums are in bloom and everything turns orange, brown, rust and yellow.

I would love to be able to put my windows up but we all have allergies here so we keep them down. I do miss the sounds of the night critters when the cool weather nears. Now I just can't hardly wait for the leaves to turn into their beautiful colors.

I hope everyone is happy and well. Thanks for coming by to visit.

After some very warm weather the past couple weeks, today is much cooler- like 20 degrees cooler! But it is really nice, I have to say...
and I always love the fall colors!

Also, a belated birthday to your daughter, Katie! Hope it was a wonderful day for her!
Hugs,
~Tammy

I love the Autumn air and colors too. It is my favorite time of the year. I would hate not being able to open my windows. I am sorry you don't get to enjoy that part of the year.

Your Blog looks so attractive with all the fall pictures. It has been cooler here too, but I must admit fall isn't my favorite only because of the bitter winter that follows soon after.
Thanks for you comment on my blog it is encouraging to know my sisters in the Lord are not perfect either. Hugs to you

I live in the country so I can surely relate to the leaf burning. :)

Since I am a hot tea drinker, the cooler weather makes it a little easier.....

Hi Lisa,
Oh I love autumn, it's my most favourite time of year with spring being my second favourite. We are now in spring and the town is ablaze with pink from all the cherry blossoms. So pretty. But the fall leaves and different shades from all the desiduous trees are amazing. The crisp sound of crucnhing leaves underfoot, the cool evening air and the smell of leaves dropping to lay to rest. A hint of winter in the breathe of the wind.
Back in 1996 my husband and I were in Tennessee staying with some dear friends and it was this time of year we came over. We visited Casey Jones Old Country village in Jackson Tn, and they had a gorgeous display with bales of hay, big pumpkins and lots of yellow flowers (chrysanthiums I think??). I loved it and so long to return.........same time of year!!
Thanks for the poem and the pictures. Your blog is so pretty.
